Coco & Eve : Like A Virgin Hair Masque Review

Hello lovelies…

Please be honest with me, ladies…how much do you care about your hair? As much as you care about you facial skin?

Well…I was!

I mean…why bother? I wore hijab to schools and till this current 8 to 5 job, I wear hijab to work.

I was born with a quite thick straight hair (I’m blessed). But somehow…my hair was dull, frizzy and coarse. Due to my negligence, my hair’s getting damaged and what worst could happened…they started falling out rampantly as I get older.

And until at this certain point, I started seeking out for help on preventing me from getting bald. I started eating healthy foods and distressed myself from works and life and most importantly…get enough sleep.

Yup…it works!

And to deal with my damaged and unmanageable hair, I started investing on a good hair care products. My look out for shampoos and conditioners which are free from Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), paraben and gluten. My preference is Verb Products brand, of course! (I did even blog about it before. As to top up my hair care routine, I pampered them with a hair mask. Yes, girls…hair needs to wear mask too!

So, I indulged myself into this multiple award wining Coco and Eve: Like A Virgin Hair Masque…which I never regret!

This hair masque is build in 5-in-1 formula that helps to repair my hair from inside-out. It:

Revives dry and damaged hair caused by styling, heat, dyes and the environment;
Restores hair to its pure state like it used to be;
Repairs hair from the inside and out;
Conditions from root to tip; and
Tames frizz and split ends.

Each 212 ml hair masque contains:

Aqua (water), cetearyl alcohol, cocos nucifera (coconut) fruit extract, dimethicone, behentrimonium chloride, parfum, glycerin, cetyl alcohol, sodium benzoate, ficus carica (fig) fruit extract, argania spinosa (argan) kernel oil, shea butter ethyl esters, caryocar brasiliense fruit oil, ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, hydrolyzed linseed extract, leuconostoc/radish root ferment filtrate, phenoxyethanol, cetrimonium chloride,potassium sorbate, ethylhexylglycerin, selaginella lepidophylla extract, saccharomyces/silicon ferment, saccharomyces/iron ferment, saccharomyces/magnesium ferment, saccharomyces/copper ferment, saccharomyces/zinc ferment, tocopherol, lactobacillus ferment, benzyl alcohol, benzyl salicylate, coumarin, limonene, linalool.

As you can see from the list, the key ingredients for this are:

Coconut: Add shines to the hair. It also strengthen and repair the hair by preventing hair breakage and split ends;
Fig: moisturise and help detangle the hair;
Shea butter: moisturise and help detangle the hair;
Lin seed: improves the gloss and texture; and
Argan oil: treats split ends, tames frizziness.

My verdict: This is a savior to my damaged hair. This masque is a bit pricey, i.e MYR 180 (USD 43.58) compared to any other drugstore hair masques you could find in local store, but it worth every Ringgit! I started seeing result right after my first use. The results are getting better and better after several usage.

I couldn’t imagine how amazing my hair would be after a month of usage! Probably as silky smooth as the mulberry silk 😉

The masque has a pleasant subtle sweet coconutty fragrance which isn’t overpowering. It lingered until my next wash. The texture is thick and creamy and has a good level of slip. It easily distributed throughout my hair with the help from the tangle tamer brush which was provided in the package. I’m over satisfied with this purchase and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this product to you, girls…if you want to stay away from hair misery.

Butterfly Coachella Party 2019

All this while, I saw posts on social media on how fun and exciting the Coachella parties were on the other side of the world. Never have I ever thought that I could feel this fun in Malaysia…

…. Until The Butterfly Project Malaysia management threw a Coachella party for us!

It took me almost an hour to drive to this place. I simply get fascinated by the decoration of this event space. It is a three (3) floor with a spacious rooftop building that can be rent for any events or parties. This company provides themed DIY party set rental too. The building was decorated according to the event theme. As for this party, the Hearty Party team successfully attracted us with their instagrammable Coachella themed decoration.

I was so nervous to join this party at the beginning, but our friendly volunteer, Fluffy Olie greeted me with a friendly smile at the entrance. I totally felt so warm. The registration at the counter was fast and efficient.

In support of The Butterfly Project Community, I purchased a cute set of bracelet at the registration counter.

Nowadays, photo booths have become a MUST in every party and event. A good photo booth is the one with a picturesque background and cool and funky props. I was jumping up with joy when I find out a coffee pop – up booth. It looks like Mamasan knows what’s the best for us. I know some of you might say “it’s Coachella! We need booze, not coffee!”. Well…once you tasted their cold brew coffee, you will take back what you said. It is a ready to drink coffee that will lift up your energy. It’s sugar-free and the chocolate milk is made from premium cocoa powder and the purest milk. I managed to try out their peanut butter cold brew coffee and chocolate milk. Who doesn’t enjoy live acoustic songs while enjoying our dinner huh? and there was Mr. Sid Haizad Yusoff strumming his guitar and serenading relaxing songs with his manly vocal.

Ahhh…we all were so happy singing along with him and some of us were dancing with joy.

This moment was unforgettable!

Ratasya Cosmetics Honey Treatment Lip Matte

Last week (August 12th,2019), was a big day for one of the local cosmetic brand in Malaysia. The brand named Ratasya Cosmetics which is owned by a famous Malaysian singer, Siti Sarah Raissuddin. It was the day of the launching of Ratasya Cosmetics in Malaysia.

At first, I wasn’t overwhelmed by the products since this brand only comes out with only lip matte in three (3) shades, which are:

Balada;
Klasik; and
Pop Rock.

However, after watching the singer did some swatches on the Balada lip matte on Instagram, I decided to give it a try. I bought the same shade as she wore on her Instagram.

This honey treatment lip matte is infused with olive oil, vitamin E, honey and shea butter. This brand claimed to:

Treat dried lips;
Brighten your lips; and
Anti-wrinkle.

The full ingredients are as listed below:

Cyclopentasiloxane, Trimethysiloxysilicate, Talc, Dimethicone, Isododecane, Diisostearyl Malate, Isononyl Isononoate, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Cera Alba (Beeswax), Butyrospermum parkii (shea butter), Flavor, Tocopheryl, Acetate (Vitamin E), Sentrane leaf oil (olive), Mentha Piperita (peppermint), may contain +/- Dioxide Titanium (Cl 77891), D & C Red No.28 (Cl 77499), D & C Red No.6 (Cl 15850) D & C Red No.7 (Cl 15850), Red Red Oxide (Cl 77491), Yellow Iron Oxide (Cl 77492), Black Iron Oxide (Cl 77499)

My verdict:

I’m satisfied with this lip matte. This lip matte doesn’t feel heavy on my lip and it moisten my lip. It is very long lasting. I applied this lip matte before I ate my ‘roti canai’ with fish curry dip and a cup of ‘teh tarik’ during breakfast, and after I finished my eating, my lip matte was still in place..just like it was before I had my breakfast.

And yes…I would definitely buy the whole color shades from this brand. I hope there would be more color options to choose in the future.

This lip matte is at retail for MYR 39 (USD 9.30). Meanwhile, you can grab all these three (3) shades for MYR 99 (USD 23.62) during their promotion period which is happening right now.

A few months ago I blogged about a Korean sheet mask I discovered. I experimented the sheet mask on my face before I wrote about it. But, I just noticed that I had forgotten to share with you, girls on a few things that you have to avoid when you are using the sheet masks.

Yup, using a sheet mask seemed to be easy-peasy, but are you sure you are wearing the mask in the right way?

These common mistakes I’m about to share could negatively impact the results a sheet mask has on our skin.

Wearing a mask without cleansing your face;
Not prepping your cleansed face before applying the mask;
Moisturizing your face before putting on the mask;
Wearing the mask for too long; and
Discarding the rest of the skincare routine after taking off the sheet mask.
